In his latest message, Federal Retirees\u2019 CEO expresses disappointment that Prime Minister Mark Carney\u2019s new cabinet lacks a dedicated minister of seniors. <\/h5>

Le vendredi 14 mars, Mark Carney a succ\u00e9d\u00e9 au premier ministre Justin Trudeau et est devenu le 24e premier ministre du Canada. En raison de ce changement de leadership \u00e0 Ottawa, nous nous attendons \u00e0 une r\u00e9orientation des priorit\u00e9s strat\u00e9giques du gouvernement. <\/p>

M\u00eame si je suis convaincu de pouvoir veiller \u00e0 ce que le nouveau premier ministre et le nouveau Cabinet gardent notre programme de d\u00e9fense des int\u00e9r\u00eats \u00e0 l\u2019esprit, je dois mentionner que je suis d\u00e9\u00e7u que le Cabinet ne comprenne pas de ministre des A\u00een\u00e9s. Alors qu\u2019il faut toujours r\u00e9aliser plus de travail dans ce dossier, la cr\u00e9ation de ce poste au sein du Cabinet a \u00e9t\u00e9 une \u00e9tape importante pour veiller \u00e0 ce que la voix des Canadiens et Canadiennes \u00e2g\u00e9s ne se perde pas le long du processus d\u00e9cisionnel. <\/p>

De plus, nous reconnaissons que le paysage politique \u00e0 Ottawa \u00e9volue constamment. En cas de d\u00e9clenchement d\u2019\u00e9lections f\u00e9d\u00e9rales, nous sommes pr\u00eats. Notre \u00e9quipe de la d\u00e9fense des int\u00e9r\u00eats s\u2019affaire activement \u00e0 garder une longueur d\u2019avance sur les d\u00e9veloppements et continuera \u00e0 dialoguer avec les d\u00e9cideurs cl\u00e9s pour s\u2019assurer que notre voix demeure forte. Si des \u00e9lections devaient \u00eatre d\u00e9clench\u00e9es dans les semaines \u00e0 venir, nous serons pr\u00eats \u00e0 nous mobiliser pour mettre en \u0153uvre notre strat\u00e9gie de d\u00e9fense des int\u00e9r\u00eats et veiller \u00e0 ce que nos priorit\u00e9s de d\u00e9fense des int\u00e9r\u00eats soient fermement au premier plan de la conversation nationale.<\/p>
