They do this by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>researching and acting on issues affecting seniors<\/li>\n<li>being a unified voice advocating for seniors<\/li>\n<li>engaging and supporting member organizations<\/li>\n<li>partnering with member organizations and others<\/li>\n<li>creating awareness and co-ordination of resources and services for seniors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SSM is involved in many programs aimed at increasing the quality of life of older adults in our province, including:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/skseniorsmechanism.ca\/home-supports-initiative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Home Supports Initiative<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/skseniorsmechanism.ca\/ageism-awareness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ageism Awareness<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/skseniorsmechanism.ca\/fraud-awareness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fraud Awareness<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/skseniorsmechanism.ca\/positive-aging\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Positive Ageing<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: 003767;\">Community groups and resources<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alzheimer.ca\/sk\/en\/about-us\/alzheimer-society-saskatchewan\">Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan is the province&rsquo;s leading dementia care and research charity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scoa.ca\/\">Saskatoon Council on Aging<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Saskatoon Council on Aging promotes the dignity, health and independence of older adults through education, programs, services and policy advocacy.\u00a0 They offer <a href=\"https:\/\/scoa.ca\/events-calendar\/\">classes and events<\/a> throughout the year!<\/p>\n<p>Your Government:<\/p>\n<p>The federal, provincial and municipal governments all offer programs and services for seniors!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/employment-social-development\/campaigns\/seniors.html\">Federal programs and services for seniors<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saskatchewan.ca\/residents\/family-and-social-support\/seniors-services\">Saskatchewan Services for Seniors<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saskatoonservicesforseniors.ca\/\">Saskatoon Services for Seniors<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Community highlight Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism (SSM) The National Association of Federal Retirees is a member of the SSM, and supports the organization&rsquo;s mission to bring together Saskatchewan seniors&rsquo;
