National awards for individuals

Individual awards will be presented for the following categories:

Instructions for nominators

  1. Click on the award(s) for which you are submitting the nomination
  2. Complete all three parts: Part 1 (Nominee), Part 2 (Nominator), Part 3 in accordance with the award criteria (including names of two endorsers)
  3. Send any supporting documents, including the name of the nominee and the award category, to gcurran@federalretirees.ca

Claude Edwards Leadership Award

Provided to an Association volunteer who demonstrated outstanding leadership and perseverance in advancing an Association cause or causes which benefit(s) members.

The collaboration award

This award recognizes an Association volunteer who made a significant contribution to a partnership or collaborative activity requiring the cooperation of different Association entities/or external stakeholders, and which resulted in benefits to members, one or more branches or districts, or the Association as a whole.

The volunteerism award

Presented to an Association member who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service, through his or her volunteer activities outside of the Association.


National Branch Excellence Awards

There are four branch awards to recognize the outstanding work done by our branches in support of our members and volunteers. The awards are:

This category is open to small branches with a membership of 800 or less. Nominations for this award must show evidence of excellence in any one of the three core functions:

  • Advocacy
  • Membership recruitment and engagement
  • Volunteer recruitment and engagement

This is a new category which is open to medium-sized branches with a membership range of 801 to 1,500. Nominations for this award must show evidence of excellence in any two of the three core functions:

  • Advocacy
  • Membership recruitment and engagement
  • Volunteer recruitment and engagement

The minimum membership threshold for the Branch Excellence Award (Large branches) has been raised from 1,001 to 1,501. Nominations for this award must show evidence of excellence in all three core functions:

  • Advocacy
  • Membership recruitment and engagement
  • Volunteer recruitment and engagement

Nominations for this award must show evidence of excellence in all three core functions:

  • Advocacy
  • Membership recruitment and engagement
  • Volunteer recruitment and engagement
