Become a volunteer
Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Whether you’re looking to make an impact in your community, support fellow retirees, use your professional experience in a new way or connect with others through meaningful involvement, there’s a volunteer opportunity that fits.

Why volunteer?
Our volunteers strengthen local branches, support members and help improve retirement security for current and future generations. When you volunteer with us, you join a community of people who care deeply about public service, healthy aging and the well-being of retirees across Canada.
Volunteering can offer you the chance to:
- Be part of a national community rooted in public service and shared purpose.
- Use your stories, skills or experience in meaningful ways.
- Take on new roles or explore new interests over time.
- Contribute to causes that support retirees and veterans.
What you can do as a volunteer
We offer long-term, short-term and episodic volunteer opportunities across a wide range of roles. We find what fits your interests, your schedule and your comfort level.
Volunteer roles may include:
- Organizing or supporting local branch activities and events.
- Taking part in committees, working groups or special projects.
- Supporting advocacy efforts.
- Sharing your story, experience and perspectives.
- Participate in membership booths and awareness events
- Taking on leadership roles at the branch or national level.
These are just a few of the many ways you can contribute. Every volunteer brings unique skills and strengths, and there’s room to try different roles over time.

A welcoming and inclusive community
We’re building a volunteer community that reflects the diversity of our members and the people we serve. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and lived experiences, including people who identify as Black, Indigenous or persons of colour, people with disabilities and members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
We’re looking for volunteers who value connection, collaboration, and purpose, and who enjoy working with others to support retired federal employees and veterans. Bring your ideas, experience, and team spirit to stay engaged and make a meaningful impact.
Your perspective strengthens our work and helps us better support retirees and veterans across Canada.
